Product Description

The 32614-2G is an upgrade of Bosch's classic model 32614. For the most part, this is the same as its predecessor, which in this case is a good thing. It's easy to see why this drill was chosen as a 2006 "Best Buy" by a leading consumer magazine. The primary difference is the addition of Bosch's Bluecore battery technology, which offers 50% longer battery life and a 30-minute charge time.

As a class, Bosch Compact Tough drills are designed to offer extreme durability in a small package. The 32614-2G delivers tons of power in a compact size that makes it easier to maneuver in tight spaces than many other drills in its class. At a relatively slim 4.2 pounds and with an ergonomic, soft-grip handle, this is a very comfortable drill to use. The Bosch-built unibody power train that contains the motor, gearbox, and clutch in one contiguous unit for durability and the best alignment possible. That and the Durashield housing, made from a flexible ABS nylon blend, makes the tool extremely resistant to damage, including multiple 1-story drops in Bosch's tests. A steel-reinforced collar protects the tool even when it is dropped on the chuck.

Other features include a 15-position clutch to prevent stripped screwheads and buried screws; a ratcheting, single-sleeve 3/8-inch chuck for one handed bit changes; and a 2-speed gear box to provide optimal performance for both high-torque and high-speed applications. The integrated bit holder at the base of the handle is easy to access.--Tod Harrick

Bluecore Battery Technology
Bluecore batteries offer up to 50% longer life than comparable batteries of the same voltage and a fast charging time. Special cooling rods absorb the head inside the batteries. Sensors within the batteries communicate with the new Bosch 30-minute chargers to ensure optimal results. Bluecore batteries are completely compatible with all Bosch cordless tools.

Fast 30-Minute Charger
Available in single or dual bay models, this charging station charges all Bosch 9.6-, 12-, 14.4-, 18-, and 24-volt cordless tool batteries in 30 minutes. A microprocessor measures internal battery temperatures to optimize energy flow and maximize battery charge capacity. 2 LED indicators make it easy to see when your batteries are fully charged.

Lightweight but heavy duty

I've been doing construction for twenty years and have used many drills. I was a devoted Dewalt man until I got a hold of this drill. It's very well balanced and is very lightweight. It has great power. The drill is very comfortable and is a pleasure to use.
The best all around drill by a mile

This drill is perfectly balanced weight, size and power. If you are looking for a drill to do it all and not make your arm fall off by the end of the day this is the one for you.
The high points of this drill are the battery life and warranty (2 year replacement). The low weight(4.2lbs) and compact size. The chuck is one of the best I have ever used. The trigger controll on this drill is very percise and tight. I can't say enough about the great job Bosch did with this fine power tool.

In my handyman van I have a dozen bosch tools, all for good reason. They are for the professional and they hold up accordingly. If you want to be proud of your tools, buy Bosch. As for the 14.4 drill, it's my runaway favorite, in my bucket at virtually every job. I liked it so much I got two. In cordless drills I also have an 18 volt (impact), and a 24 volt as well, but the 14.4 is the workhorse because of it's ideal size. Another plus: it's possibly indestructable.
A Must Have Drill

I have used this Bosch drill for a few months now and love it. To go along with the drill I also bought the Clic-Change, hex screwdriver bits, and hex shank drill bits. The Clic-Change makes life a whole lot easier by being able to switch bits quickly. The drill is small enough to fit in places that others can not. Plus, the weight and balance is such that you can drill all day without fatigue. The Bluecore battery charges in just minutes. I have also dropped the drill a couple of times and it hardly has a scratch on it. I also really love the 2 speeds. The first speed is for screws and the higher speed is for drilling holes. The 2 speeds match perfectly to the job. I highly recommend this Bosch drill.
First Drill Tool and What a Drill

This drill is pleasure to use. It's powerful yet very maneuverable due to it's compact size and light weight. It's perfect for small to medium sized home projects. I considered a 18V drill first but realized 18V was just too big and heavy for my home projects. The batteries take less than an hour to fully charge and last very long for light duty work. I've installed 4 curtains, two towel bars, one towel ring, and one table over one month span with one charge and it's still going. I've yet to use the second battery. Granted, I haven't done any heavy duty work, but the battery life still impresses me.

I consider this drill money well spent and must have in your home.
Best of those I've used

I've used DeWalt, Skill, Craftsman and Makita. Wore all of them out (batteries, mostly).
This is the perfect combination of power and size. It gets in to tight spots like cabinets, etc. -And I like the new chuck.
It is an excellent value.
